Time Commitment

AIAP is a full-time programme. You will be expected to:

All applicants must complete the two-stage AIAP Proficiency Test
to assess technical readiness.

Stage 1: Technical Assessment

A 6-day take-home covering EDA and ML in Python, built with software engineering rigour.

Stage 2: Interview

A technical interview followed by a collaborative group case study.

Successful applicants are matched to either the 6 or 9-month track
based on their results and profile.

AIAP is a structured 6 or 9 month AI Engineering apprenticeship designed to build production-ready capability. Apprentices work on real-world projects, receive mentorship and undergo focused deep-skilling aligned with industry needs. The programme prepares participants for roles such as AI Engineer, MLOps Engineer, DataOps Engineer, and Data Scientist.

The programme runs for either 6 or 9 months, depending on your background and assessment outcome. The 9-month AIAP is the flagship track with a proven track record of developing industry-ready AI Engineers.

Our intensive 6-month track, AIAP for Industry, is designed to accelerate AI Engineering deep-skilling while maintaining the same rigorous standards of training and mentorship.

Both tracks uphold the same quality and outcome expectations, enabling apprentices to build real-world capability at pace.

Yes. AIAP is a full-time 6 or 9 months programme.

The programme is conducted on the NTU campus, where apprentices undergo structured AI Engineering training, mentorship and project work in an immersive learning environment.

Apprentices work on real-world AI projects in collaboration with industry partners. Projects cover a range of practical challenges, ranging from Natural Language Processing for speech synthesis, to object detection for brand compliance, and other AI solutions that solve industry problems. This hands-on experience prepares you to design, build, and deploy production-ready AI systems.

You do not need a formal background or past work experience in tech, but you do need foundational knowledge in Python programming, machine learning, and software engineering to pass the technical assessment. AIAP is an intensive deep-skilling program, not a beginner’s coding bootcamp.

The AIAP Foundation course is for those with basic Python skills, offering a fully guided, self-paced learning experience to master core AI fundamentals and applied AI skills, helping you build readiness for your AIAP application.

Whether you’re switching careers or levelling up your technical skills, the AIAP Foundation gives you a structured, confidence-building pathway to prepare you for applying to AIAP.

Beyond becoming an AI Engineer, the deep-skilling and hands-on experience gained through AIAP open doors to a range of AI careers. Our graduates have secured roles such as AI Engineer, MLOps Engineer, DataOps Engineer, and Data Scientist. Since its inception, AIAP has maintained more than 90% placement rate, with graduates successfully transitioning into AI-related roles after programme completion.

Yes. AIAP is an award winning programme to develop Singaporean AI talents and enhance career opportunities in AI-related roles. The programme is supported at the national level and recognised by leading employers across industries. Graduates have been placed with reputable organisations including Dyson, Tiktok, HP, and Bank of Singapore to name a few.

Once the application window opens, interested candidates can apply directly through the official AIAP website. Applicants should prepare their resume, academic transcripts and any relevant project experience before applying.

Shortlisted candidates will undergo assessments and interviews to evaluate technical proficiency, problem-solving ability and programme fit. Successful applicants will receive an offer for the appropriate track.

Not qualifying doesn’t mean the door is closed — it just means there’s more ground to cover first.
