Issue 1:
Upon registering for an account, you might see the following error:
What to do:
After registering, you should receive an email (from invites@microsoft.com) titled “AI Singapore invited you to access applications within their organization”. This email contains an invitation redemption URL. Make sure to accept the invitation to be added as an external user in AI Singapore’s tenant. After accepting the invitation, go back to the course login page and sign in using the Azure SAML button. If you still encounter issues, ensure that you are using the correct email and that the invitation has been fully accepted. If the problem persists, try contacting support.
Issue 2:
When attempting to log in, I receive the error message, “This username has been turned off for sign in.”
What to do:
Ensure that the email address you used during registration is not an alias. Some email systems allow multiple aliases under the same account, but only the primary email may have login permissions. If you’re using an alias or a shared email, the sign-in feature might be disabled for that alias. Confirm that the email you registered with has login permissions enabled.
Issue 3:
I tried to register for the AIAP program using my Hotmail account. However, Microsoft is detecting and using my Gmail account instead.
What to do:
- Check for Linked Accounts in Microsoft
- It’s possible that your Gmail and Hotmail accounts are linked within Microsoft services. To verify:
- Go to Manage how you sign in to Microsoft and sign in with your Hotmail account.
- Check the “Account aliases” section. You might find that your Gmail account has been added as an alias, or it could be set as the primary login for your Microsoft account. If this is the case, your Microsoft services will prioritize the Gmail address.
- It’s possible that your Gmail and Hotmail accounts are linked within Microsoft services. To verify:
- Remove or Change Aliases
- If you prefer using your Hotmail account:
- In the “Account aliases” section, remove or change the Gmail account to a secondary alias, and set your Hotmail account as the primary login.
- After making this change, log out of all Microsoft services and try logging in with your Hotmail account again.
- If you prefer using your Hotmail account:
- Proceed with Gmail
- Redo the registration process by entering your Gmail account. Once you’ve completed the registration, you can continue using your Gmail account for the course and related services. Just make sure you use the same Gmail account for all future logins to avoid confusion.
