# What type of candidates are we looking for in AIAP?

We are looking for candidates who possess a keen interest to pursue a career in the area of machine learning and data science. We believe that candidates can come from any area of specialization. The eligibility and requirements are as follows:

- Eligibility
  - Singapore citizens only
  - NITEC, diploma or degree holders from a recognised Institute of Higher Learning (IHL)

- Knowledge and proficiency requirements
  - **Programming:** Experience in a language like Python
  - **Machine Learning:** Experience with data pre-processing, building ML models, and creating data pipelines
  - **MLOps & Deployment:** Proficient in Git/GitHub, Docker, Linux shell scripting, and at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  - **Data Technologies:** Familiar with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and data processing tools (like Apache Spark/Hadoop)
  - **Documentation:** Able to produce basic code documentation (e.g., README, docstrings)

Beyond that, we are looking for candidates who are self-directed, independent learners, good problem solvers, and work well in teams.
