The following terms and conditions (“Terms”) govern your (“You”, “Your” or “ Participant”) usage of this website (the “Website”), including all content, services and courses (“Service(s)”) provided via this Website by AI Singapore, a national programme funded by the National Research Foundation, Singapore, and hosted by National University of Singapore’s Office of the Deputy President (Research & Technology)  (hereafter “AISG”, “NUS”, “us”, “we” or “our”). If there are links to or redirects from this website to third party websites (“third party sites”), You should acquaint yourself with the terms of use of such third-party sites and we make no warranty or representation as to the security or content of such third party sites and Your access and use of such third party sites is at Your own risk. 

You may access or use the Website and/or the Services and accept the Terms only if: 

(a) You are at least the age to legally enter into a contract in your country of residence (18 in Singapore) and have the legal right and ability to access the Website and make use of the Services. 

(b) You are not a person barred from using the Website under the applicable laws of the country that You are resident in. 

Please read these Terms carefully before using the Website. Your access to and use of the Website is conditional upon Your acceptance, without modification, of all the Terms contained herein and all other rules, policies or procedures that may be published from time to time on this Website. If You disagree with any part of the Terms then You may not access or use the Website and Services. 

If you are using the Services on behalf of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to accept the Terms on the entity’s behalf and if required, ensure that your end-users comply with all obligations set out in the Terms or in any applicable law or regulation. 

1. Scope of Agreement

You are being granted rights under these Terms to use the Website to access the Services (“Purpose”). AI Singapore retains sole and absolute discretion over the Services offered on the Website and may modify them at any time. 

2. Rights to Use

For the Term of this Agreement, AI Singapore hereby grants You a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable, limited license to allow You to use the Website for the Purpose only. 

AI Singapore hosts and retains control over the Website and Services and only makes them available for access and use by You over the Internet through a web browser. You shall not and shall not attempt to directly or indirectly, (i) copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of any of the Services available on the Website, (ii) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to reconstruct, identify or discover any source code, underlying ideas, underlying user interface techniques, or algorithms of any part of the Website, (iii) lend, lease, offer for sale, sell or otherwise use any part of the Website for the benefit of any other third parties, or (iv) attempt to circumvent any license, timing or use restrictions that are built into any part of the Website. AI Singapore, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to revoke Your access to the Website at any time if You breach any of the Terms.

3. Availability, Errors and Inaccuracies

We are constantly updating our Services on the Website. We reserve the right to amend, change or update the Terms at our discretion.

4. General Payment Terms

4.1 Fees for Service: Certain Services on this Website are paid Services and require You to make a payment in order to access the Service (“Fee(s)”). You will have the opportunity to review and accept the applicable Fee(s) before making the payment. Payment will be in Singapore Dollars (SGD). You shall be granted access to the Service only upon receipt of the full payment by AISG. We reserve the right to determine and update the Fee(s) for the Service(s) at Our sole discretion.

4.2 Authorization: You authorize Us to charge all amounts for Your orders and selected Service levels, as detailed in the Website, including applicable taxes, using the payment method specified during Your account setup. 

4.3 No Refunds: All fees paid by You for the Services are non-refundable,By accepting these Terms, You acknowledge that AI Singapore is not required to provide refunds, credits, or fee adjustments for any reason, including but not limited to failure to use the Services, or termination of this Agreement.

5. Service Access and Termination

5.1 Term of Access: Upon receipt of the Fee(s), NUS shall grant You access to the relevant Service(s) that You have signed up for.

5.2 Automatic Termination: Access to the Service(s) will automatically terminate at the end of the program period, as outlined on the website.

5.3 Suspension of Access: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate Your access to Our Services if We determine, at our sole discretion, that You have breached any of these Terms. 

5.4 Data Retention and Usage: Your data will be retained in accordance with our Privacy Policy. 

5.5 Survival of Terms: All provisions in these Terms which by their nature should survive termination, shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability. 

6. Content

6.1 Your Content: Certain Service(s) may require Your input as part of the Service(s). You may provide input to the Services (“Input”) and receive output from the Services based on the Input (“Output”), collectively referred to as “Content.” You are responsible for ensuring that your Content complies with applicable laws and these Terms. You represent that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to provide Input to the Services.

6.2 Our use of Content: We may use your Content to operate, maintain, improve, and develop our Services, comply with legal obligations, enforce terms, and ensure the security of the Services. 

6.3 Synthetic Dataset Limitations: The Service may generate synthetic datasets intended, which are not a substitute for real-world data. Models trained on synthetic datasets may not perform optimally when applied to real-world data due to inherent differences in data distributions and characteristics.

6.4 Feedback and Error Reporting: While We strive to provide accurate and reliable feedback through the Service, errors in the Output may occur. You should independently verify any questionable results and are encouraged to report any such instances to Us, as Your feedback will help Us improve the Service.

7. Accounts

When You create an account with us, You must provide us information that is accurate, complete, and current at all times. Failure to do so constitutes a breach of these Terms, which may result in immediate termination of Your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of Your account and for any activities or actions that occur in connection with the account.

You agree not to disclose details of Your account to any third party. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of Your account or any other breaches of security immediately upon becoming aware of such unauthorised use or breach of security. We will not be liable for any acts or omissions by You, including any loss of data, breach of confidentiality or damages of any kind incurred as a result of Your acts or omissions. Any information that you have furnished to us upon creation of the account shall be used in accordance with our Privacy Policy. 

8. Open-Source Software 

Some of the software required by or included in our Services may be offered under an open-source license, details of which are provided in the specific documentation for that Service. In the event that the open-source software license terms expressly supersedes or alters these Terms, the open-source license terms shall prevail for that limited purpose only. 

9. Compliance with Law 

You will comply with all applicable law, regulation, and third-party rights (including without limitation laws regarding the import or export of data or software, privacy, and local laws). You will not use the Services to encourage or promote unethical activity, illegal activity or violation of third-party rights. You hereby irrevocably and unconditionally agree that we may monitor Your use of the Services to ensure quality of the Service, Service improvement (where required) and compliance with the Terms. 

10. Copyright Policy 

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. It is our policy to respond to any claim that any Service posted on the Website infringes the copyright or other intellectual property rights (“Infringement”) of any person. If You are a copyright owner or authorized on behalf of one and believe  that Your copyrighted material has been used in providing our Service in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please submit a written notice via our Contact Us page, labeled “Copyright Infringement”, along with a detailed description of the alleged Infringement. You may be held accountable for any damages as well as cost and expenses (including attorneys’ fees as well as time costs expended to investigate Your allegation) if there is no reasonable basis to Your allegation. 

11. Intellectual Property 

Ownership of all intellectual property in any Service that is developed by us or our licensors (as the case may be) made available through this Website is owned by us and Your access to and use of the Website does not transfer any such rights (whether directly or indirectly) to You whatsoever. 

You will not remove, deface or obscure any of our trademark notices and/or legends or other proprietary notices used in conjunction with the Services. You may not reverse engineer, reverse compile or otherwise reduce to human readable form any software associated with the Services. 

As between you and NUS, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, You (a) retain Your ownership rights in Input and (b) own the Output. We hereby assign to You all our right, title, and interest, if any, in and to Output.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by us. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. You further acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with Your use of or reliance on any such content, goods or services available on or through any such websites or services. We strongly advise You to read the terms and conditions and privacy policies of any third-party websites or services that You visit. 

13. Limitation of Liability 

In no event shall we, nor our directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Services; (iii) any content obtained from the Services; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of Your transmissions or content. 

14. Indemnification 

You agree to indemnify and hold us, our affiliates, contractors and licensors and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents, harmless from and against any, and all damages, claims and expenses, including attorney’s fees, arising out of Your access and use of this Website as well as the Services provided via the Website. 

15. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services provided through this website are offered on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. The Services are provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or course of performance. We, our subsidiaries, affiliates, and licensors do not warrant or undertake that a) the Services will be uninterrupted, secure or available at any particular time or location; b) errors or defects will be corrected; c) free of viruses or other harmful components; or d) the Services will meet Your requirements and e) will be updated. We do not warrant that this Website is free from computer viruses, bugs or other harmful components and You should have the necessary security software and firewall in place before accessing this Website. 

16. Governing Law 

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service, and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have between us regarding the Service. 

17. Changes 

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at our sole discretion. If a revision is material (as deemed by us) we will try to provide at least 10 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect. By continuing to access this website or use our Services after those revisions become effective, You agree to be bound by the revised terms. If You do not agree to the new terms, please stop using the Services.
